This is the first time I’m able to load my right leg in months from knee pain! Excited to keep it moving. Thank you @Bill Hartman @RECON

All the foam rolling stuff has been super helpful, I feel like every day I start with that, my body responds to it very well! Loving this

Thank you so much for all the coaching! It's been helping me sleep better too.

What RECON is?

  • App based fitness program organized into daily activities

  • Exercise progressions based on your body type and goals

  • A supportive fitness community with in-app forums for accountability and feedback

  • Training split into 4 week phases that will gradually reconstruct your body to get back to what you have been missing

What RECON is NOT?

  • An all out, body crippling, high intensity cardio and bodybuilding program

  • A one-size-fits all approach to fitness where we just hope for the best

  • A place where you feel judged for having struggled with your fitness in the past

  • Random assortments of exercises designed to entertain instead of improve

You’ve started and restarted your fitness program a number of times, and the same thing happens each time.

Things seem to be going well at first and then that same ache or strain creeps up and puts your progress on hold, or worse, shuts you down… again. You’re not broken. You recover but seem to bump into the same obstacle that steals your enthusiasm… again.

You scour the internet in search of a program to help.

They all start looking the same. Derivatives of body part split routines and bodybuilding programs that are copied from one internet trainer to another. Programs claiming to be science-based that show the benefits of “high-intensity” but lacking the consideration to where you are in your process.

Intensity is useful and necessary, but it has trade-offs.

Unless accounted for, intensity will drain you of energy and movement capabilities that keep you moving well and feeling healthy. Without a foundation that expands those resources first, you’ll quickly reach a threshold that brings your efforts to a halt just like last time.

A one-size-fits-all randomized program will not be sufficient.

RECON is a principle-based program derived from a coherent model of human performance evolved over thirty years of research and clinical practice.

The principles upon which the program is based are universal, but they have gone unrecognized because most programs are playing to the average.

The program takes into consideration how your individual structural influences movement and offers a greater chance of by-passing the common obstacles for those who find themselves outside the average.

What Makes RECON Different Than Other Programs?

RECON is going to look and feel different from what you may have done in the past and what you expect.

It has to be because what you’ve done in the past has resulted in where you are now. Confused by a lack of progress. Wondering why you can’t look and feel like the influencer promising that there are “The Only 3 Exercises You’ll EVER Need to Do” to look and feel your best.

RECON represents the first thing you should do.

RECON is the program BEFORE the program.

There will be activities and exercises that are new or unfamiliar. You’ll need to invest a little more brain power and practice as you execute your program. It’s like practicing a new skill or learning a musical instrument. You’ll be learning to control your body in a new way.

Rather than diving headfirst into descriptors like intensity, strength, and force, you’ll start with focus, awareness, and repeatability. Mental effort will precede the physical, but you’ll be facing more physical challenges soon enough. The program builds each new phase upon the last.

Each segment of the program will progress with your physical structure and intentions in mind.

RECONdition will guide you to get back into the gym.

RECONnect will lead you back to your favorite sport.

RECONfigure will keep you moving comfortably if gym or the court is not your thing.

You’ll be guided in your process via our app which includes the entire RECON community to offer support and motivation as you execute the program. Your coaches will also be available for Q & A support to assure your understanding of the principles and exercise technique.

I really have to say this program is simply amazing. After only 2 weeks, I got rid of my bunions, my legs, hips and thorax have completely changed shape and my shoulders have moved back up on top of my body. I can also literally see that my skull looks different and I feel much better. I have done too much strength training in the past but this program is really helping me get back on track

I wanted to say wow, already I feel such a change! What a great program, glad I switched.

Who Designed the Program?

We’ve been around for quite a while.

I’ve (Bill) been a physical therapist for over 30 years. I started in the fitness industry training clients while I was still in college and maintained a fitness training business throughout my professional career as a physical therapist. This evolved into my private practice and the top-rated Indianapolis Fitness and Sports Training where we’ve worked with everyone from octogenarians to young athletes and professionals in a broad spectrum of sports. That not only makes me old, but it has provided me with a great deal of experience in a variety of environments.

Gaining attention for successful treatments of physical therapy patients led to me becoming an in-demand clinical instructor to physical therapy students, many of whom, I’m proud to say, have become excellent practitioners themselves. Several have gone on to own their own business and become instructors themselves. You've also seen some of them sitting behind the bench of your favorite professional sports teams as part of the performance staff (we have 3 professional championship rings in the family!).

I learned a great deal in becoming an instructor. Most importantly, the incoherence in how human performance, fitness, and rehab is represented and taught, and how many of the commercial systems ultimately fail to provide depth of understanding and consistent favorable outcomes. The crux of my work has been to evolve a more realistic, reasoned, and coherent model of human performance. RECON is a by-product of that work.

Chris has been working as a health and performance professional for the last 15 years. In truth, his coaching journey really started around 25 years ago as a karate instructor, where he was exposed to a wide variety of people ranging from 4 year old's to 70 year old's. Chris, in addition to being a 2nd degree black belt, was a nationally ranked ultimate frisbee player in college and went on to play professionally for a few years. His athletic experience and the struggles he faced with injuries and having to rehabilitate himself lead him to his future studies and profession.

After getting his undergraduate degree in Integrative Kinesiology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, he began a cross country journey working in collegiate athletics. He has been a performance coach at every level, spanning 17 different sports at 5 different universities. He has trained Olympians and professional athletes, who were either coming back from injury, or wanted to take their athleticism to the next level.

After his graduate schooling in sport coaching, psychology and management, Chris began a 6 year position as training and education director of a high end private facility in NYC. Chris trained many A-list celebrities and high level executives there, all while overseeing the training programs and development of the coaching staff.

Over the years Chris has been fortunate enough to be mentored by some of the greatest minds in rehab, exercise physiology, speed, agility, and strength & conditioning. He has tirelessly coached and educated himself for tens of thousands of hours in order to be the most useful and efficient problem solver for those who need his help. RECON is the compilation of all of those coaching and education efforts into a program that will be able to help a wide variety of people throughout the world.
